The Dance Jam Productions team has hosted weekly West Coast Swing lessons and social dancing in the DC area for more than a decade. For many years Friday dances have been the largest in the area. Hollywood Ballroom has been our home since June 2013. It's perfect for all this fun with it's giant hardwood dance floor.

WHAT - West Coast Swing is one of today’s most fun, exciting, versatile, contemporary social dances. It's loads of fun that anyone can enjoy. Fridays offer friendly, casual, group classes where all ages are welcome. No partner or experience is required. All you need is a desire to have some fun, meet friendly people and learn a new social skill. Beginner classes are taught as a progressive month long series which begin every 1st Friday of the month. The Level 2 intermediate classes offer dancers with some experience a chance to learn more complex patterns, styling and techniques with rotating guest instructors. The party that follows has become legendary for attracting 200+ friendly dancers from near and far. All ages and skill levels are welcome. There is a well stocked snack bar with fresh fruit, veggies, desserts and more. Sodas & Snacks are free. There are tables in the ballroom for taking a break or mingling. This venue has lots of socializing space beyond the dancing areas. Many of the dancers we see on Fridays are long time regulars that have been dancing with us for 10+ years.

WHEN - Dances are scheduled EVERY Friday except for an occasional holiday or when we close in support of 3 annual all weekend events.  These closings and other special Friday night events are listed below. If bad weather is forcast please check this page for last minute information.
